Samantha is a Sustainable Development Manager at John Swire & Sons. Prior to joining Swire, Samantha led ELEVATE’s team of sustainability consultants in Hong Kong, advising multinational and local clients in the food and beverage, hospitality, aviation, real estate and finance sectors on their sustainability strategy and disclosure; she worked with the HKSAR Government’s SIE Fund to deliver Hong Kong’s first Shared Value Forum in 2015, and with international NGOs such as Conservation International and Oxfam on thought leadership research to promote private sector understanding of social challenges in the shrimp value chain and balancing conservation and development in Asia.
Prior to ELEVATE, Samantha spent five years working in Beijing, where she managed China’s largest youth conservation movement, the Green Long March, and championed sustainability at a boutique travel firm.
Samantha is passionate about making food systems more sustainable and cofounded a social enterprise to promote rooftop farming in Hong Kong. She received a BSc. (Hons) Natural Sciences from Durham University and is a member of the university’s Asia Pacific Development Board.
