Magnus McGlashan co-founded Pacsafe in Hong Kong in 1998. Pacsafe designs and manufactures functional Travel products, which are sold in over 40 countries.
In 2008, after a decade of quick growth, Pacsafe pledged to become a sustainability-focused company.
2008 saw the company remove PVC from the supply chain. The next step was setting up the Pacsafe Turtle Fund in 2014, supporting sea turtle conservation projects globally. Then in 2018 Pacsafe introduced Pacsafe’s Econyl range of bags, made from discarded fishing nets and other ocean plastic.
Pacsafe is on track to have 75% of their complete product line being manufactured from 100% recycled material in 2021. Pacsafe has further pledged to remove all virgin plastic from their supply chain by 2025.
Magnus left Australia in 1988 and has travelled to over 50 countries including completing a circumnavigation of the world in 1991. He is passionate about travel and reducing waste. Magnus has lived in Hong Kong for the last 22 years.
